French property for sale in autignac languedoc region
Location
This viticultrual village is situated on a small hill edging the biterroise valley and provides a path to the "l'aire de l'AOC Faugères" and it's first vineyards just a few kilomètres from the Haut Languedoc regional natural Parc. Up to 1307, this was established on the Belloc site where the castrum was raised with the Notre Dame church of Belloc dated 1140.
It was here that Raymond of Albiniac and Margon build his fortified chateau. In 1788 fire destroyed most of this including the Saint Martin church. This was later restaured in 1899.
An excellent location at the edge of a traditional wine-growing village with stunning views over the surrounding Languedoc hills
